Let Love Rule Epiphany

Adoration of the Wise Men by Murillo

January 6th is the Epiphany. It’s the Christian feast day when the Magi visited the infant Jesus. On this day the baby Jesus was recognized as the son of God. It is also considered the 12th day of Christmas.

An epiphany is also defined as a sudden realization of great truth in one’s life. It’s a moment in one’s life when a person realizes a truth so deep within their soul they know their whole life will change as a result. I’ve experienced some wonderful Epiphanies in my life. The most important Epiphanies in my life occurred in the last two years and lead to wonderful changes in my life. I learned in the last two years where my heart truly lies. I learned what brings me joy. I learned what I am willing sacrifice to be happy. I learned the value of true healthy friendships. I learned where my passion lies. Most importantly, I chose to love bravely. Once the “love” epiphany happened I knew I had to choose love and I had to put it all on the line for it.

An epiphany isn’t always easy to go through. It usually requires hard choices to be made followed by action and change. Once the ball starts moving it’s hard to get out of its way. You more or less have to learn how to roll with the new truth in your life and let it take you where it may. An Epiphany is also hard to digest and handle because it happens suddenly. Life offers no advance warning. And, chances are even if life did give a warning, it would have been ignored. We only let ourselves see the truth in our life when we are ready to handle it.

Once the epiphany happens, it takes time to figure things out. I’ve learned the key to dealing with an epiphany in one’s life is to keep an open mind & heart. I chose to, as Lenny Kravitz says, “let love rule”.

About Linda Long Writes

I am an individual who believes in man's ability to overcome adversity and triumph. Life has taken me on many journeys. But, the most important trip I've taken is the one that leads right down into the bottom of my soul. That's where I live. I am an open person and willing share, encourage, and befriend all like-minded individuals. I live and practice the Law of Attraction. I practice Gratitude and Giving every day as a way to source my own personal and spiritual growth. I am Yogini and plan to pursue teacher training in the next year or so. As for my blog, my blog is written from the heart and is about my quest to the best I can be in this life. And, I also post my authentically written poetry on my blog. A couple of notes about my blog: 1. I post three to five times a week depending on inspiration and the flow of creative juices. 2. I ’m always looking for inspiration. Please feel free to send me a message with suggestions or suggested reading materials. 3. My blog is considered a “lifestyle” blog. It is based on self reflection and personal experiences. At times, my blogs can be a bit heavy, deep or overwhelming. But, at other times, they are just plan filled with the nonsense and garbage in my head. Either way, they are honest, genuine offerings coming from within my soul and, hopefully, touching yours.
